Anti-Aging tips that work

Preventing and treating wrinkles requires work both on the inside and the outside of our bodies. The holistic approach to skin care is the only way to achieve healthy skin long term. You can apply amazing products to your face everyday but if you are not drinking enough water, getting enough rest, eating healthy, protecting your skin from the sun, exercising and eliminating stress your skin care regimen alone is not enough to achieve maximum results.

Our skin is the largest organ and it is easily affected by the nutrients or lack of nutrients we put in our bodies. Other factors that affect our skin are environmental such as pollution and sun exposure. Here are some quick tips to help you look your best.

Be aware of what you eat. Eat plenty of fruits vegetables and leafy greens. These foods contain necessary antioxidants that help strengthen skin tissue. Also, eat foods high in omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids like salmon, olive oil, chia seeds and flax seeds. You can also take supplements that contain these essential omega fatty acids. This helps to protect the top layer of skin that holds moisture in and prevents dry skin and dry patches.

Reduce your intake of sugar and processed foods. These foods cause inflammation, which disrupts the normal production of skin cells.

I know you have heard this before but DRINK PLENTY OF WATER.  There is no getting around this. Instead of drinking six to eight glasses a day, drink half of your weight in ounces. For example, if you weigh 200 pounds then you should be drinking 100 ounces of water every day, minimum. Water keeps the skin hydrated from the inside out. If you do this consistently you will begin to see results within two weeks.

Reduce your exposure to the sun. I know its spring time and summer is just around the corner. These are both my favorite times of the year. I love warm, tropical weather and I love to feel the sun on my skin. However, ultra-violet (UV) rays are the biggest contributing factor to aging skin. The sun causes skin to lose collagen and elastin which are the foundational structures of our skin cells. Sun damaged skin is saggy, dry and wrinkled. UV exposure also leads to sun spots.

Use anti-aging skin care products. Look for products that contain additional ant-oxidants like vitamins A, C and E. Also, you want to use proven anti-aging ingredients such as peptides, hyaluronic acid and Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM).
If the product contains carrier or essential oils that have been shown to benefit aging skin, that's a bonus. GlammGirl Essential Skin Care products contain these mentioned ingredients.

Consistently follow a good skin care protocol. If you want to see results and the best results, you need to properly take care of your skin consistently by using high performing and high quality products that deliver results. You should always cleanse and moisturize at least twice a day, in the morning and before you go to bed. Apply your anti-aging treatment peptides and serums by applying the thinnest product first. You should masque and exfoliate at least once per week.

Remember, if you want vibrant younger looking skin you have to treat it from the inside out.
