Are you too busy for a complete skin care routine?

It's a good day when you can complete your skin care routine in less than five minutes. Here is how -

Step one --> Cleanse -This is a must and you should never skip cleansing your face. Throughout the day, your face attracts dirt and dust which clogs pores. If you skip this step you will regret it and it will result in unsightly breakouts, dull, ruddy looking skin. Who wants that?

  • Oily/Clogged pores/Acne prone skin types -

    • Stay away from alcohol based cleansers. Instead use water based or aloe vera based cleansers.

    • Avoid over scrubbing with your hands and face towel because this could stimulate the sebaceous glands (Fancy word I know. Sebaceous glands produce sebum which translates to more oily skin).

    • TIP -- carry skin blotting tissues to blot the oil from your face throughout the day.

  • Dry/mature skin types -

    • Stay away from alcohol based cleansers. Instead use water based, aloe vera based or cream based cleansers.

    • Avoid over scrubbing with your hands and face towel because this could cause more dryness, flakiness and redness. Trust me.

  • Sensitive skin types -

    • Stay away from alcohol based cleansers. Alcohol can be very irritating and harsh on sensitive skin which can do more harm than good.

    • You also want to avoid over scrubbing with your hands and face towel because this could cause redness and breakouts.

Step two --> Moisturize - This is the final step. The purpose of moisturizing is to restore the moisture lost during cleansing (I know, it's not rocket science). A good natural oil based moisturizer or cream based will do. Even if you have oily skin you should moisturize. Your moisturizer should not increase the oiliness, it should bring balance to your skins pH level resulting in healthy skin.

And you are out the door…
